Dr. Lucy Caton

Dr. Lucy Caton is the Lead for the Centre of AI in Education at The University of Bolton. She chairs the annual cross-sector symposium, uniting diverse educator and student perspectives on integrating generative AI into classrooms. Dr. Caton is co-authoring the forthcoming title ‘AI-Powered Pedagogy and Curriculum Design: Practical Insights for Educators.’ published by Routledge, featuring case studies from educators experimenting with AI technologies to inform pedagogy. She is also due to publish ‘Navigating the Ethical Horizon: Accountability, Transparency, and Governance in AI-driven Postgraduate Research’ (Springer Publishers) and leading current generative AI funding bids in partnership with the Great School Trust and King Fisher Academy Trust. Dr. Caton’s interests focus on the use of generative AI to support neuro diverse students, accessibility and opportunity for all. She is also passionate about building awareness and training for teachers and support staff in the use of effective use of generative AI to support administrational duties and research beyond the classroom.
