Dr. Erika Jordaan, lecturer in the Department of Biotechnology and Food Technology at Tshwane University of Technology. She is a Microbiologist, and worked in the meat industry before becoming an academic, nearly 35 years ago! She is an enthusiastic about her chosen career, she loves Microbiology, and she tries to instill that passion in her students. She completed qualifications in education (MEd, University of Pretoria) and vocational teaching practices (Haaga-Helia University of Basic Science, Finland). She completed her doctorate in Biotechnology focusing on microalgae. She is grateful to be a life-long learner since she is constantly discovering new things!
